Anyone else extremely happy that Winter break is almost here? I’m starting to feel a little less stressed…With just four more assignments left! =) Well, I’ll officially be happy once I get my grades. I’m a little worried about the whole grade situation! Anyway, I’m ready for a break so I can NOT do homework and work on things that I want to work on. I’m talking hobbies. Like, I want to write a book! I just don’t have the patience. I feel like I have lots of great ideas and no way to really get them on paper. Oh, well. Also want to get into You-tube. Video editing can be fun but again, it takes time and patience. Perhaps most importantly though…I want to get around to watching the various TV shows that I have on DVD that I haven’t had time for over the past few months. I’m just really excited about my break! =) I’m definitely NOT excited about next semester though. Editorial writing? =( I’m a little annoyed by my schedule. Going all the way to Pembroke for just ONE class on Tuesday and Thursday? That feels like such a waste. Apparently, I have to have it though. Would rather take photojournalism ALL over again than take editorial writing…I really would. =D
Youtube obsession… September 5, 2008
So over the past year or so I have noticed this growing trend on Youtube. There are these music videos on there…Made by just ordinary people like myself. Ok so this is how this works: somehow steal clips from your favorite television program/movie and then pick a song. Then you can go into your video editing program (for most I assume it is Windows Movie Maker). Edit these clips along with the music and you have yourself a homemade music video. Now, I’m sure posting this on youtube is actually very illegal. There are still an awful lot on there, though! What I thought about when I saw this was…Television networks must see that this is going on. Now, previously I only noticed this happening on the Disney channel (not that I watch that or anything) but now I’m seeing music videos for television shows on ABC and there may be some on other networks as well. Earlier this year I saw music videos on ABC for both Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives. I say this is a great idea! Obsessed television fans are always wanting more so why not make a short video to show in between programs? Judging by the number of user made music videos that exist on Youtube (for pretty much ANY show you can imagine) I think that networks should consider this! Especially with the new shows coming on this fall! Want to see for yourself? Just go here: www.youtube.com and type in a popular television show (or maybe even UNpopular).
